SEE THE EXPERIENCE FOR YOURSELF
WILL I GET COLD?
No! Lots of people are concerned about being cold, however this simply doesn’t happen. You will be in a 3mm long-john and a 3mm jacket that fits over the top, this means you have 6mm of wetsuit material over your core. You will also actively be paddling down the river, continually engaging all muscles. Finally, you are on top of a river sled for the majority of the time, and so whilst you will get wet, you are not constantly submerged in water. You will not get cold!
WHAT IS SLEDDING?
River sledding is a unique and thrilling experience that puts you centimetres from the water as you make your way downstream. Our river sleds are made from hard-wearing raft materials making them incredibly durable and most importantly, safe.
Your sledding adventure will have you drifting down the river belly first, a mix between a gentle float with the natural current as you take in the surrounding lush scenery, and the odd dip and swerve as you make your way through grade one and two white-water rapids. The best part? There’s no experience necessary!
WORLD HERITAGE WILDERNESS
Located on the picturesque Meander River between the dense treescapes is our river sledding experience. While you’re sledding down the river, be sure to admire the untouched Tasmanian surroundings and the unique flora and fauna, as our tour is the only way to see this part of the Meader!
We think the best thing about our tours is getting out on our whitewater adventure with the fresh air and the pristine water that flows directly from the rugged Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area. So go on, have a gander at Meander with us!
